Cleaning

Overview

The Swift Pour team recommends making use of the TM DESANA MAX with active chlorine & TM colour change technology for line cleaning. Any alternative product can be made use of, if said products contains Active Chlorine and is safe from human consumption / Food grade safe.

Requirements – Line Cleaning

The listed requirements are for the TM DESANA MAX (70g). Each sachet makes 9L of solution (Adapt measurements as required).

Requirments
1x TM DESANA MAX CL
Measuring apparatus: Jug, Cups, syringe
Mixing vessel: Bucket, Keg
Flushing keg
Spray Bottle: 250ml, 500ml
Personal Protective gear: Gloves, Safety Goggles
Clean water

Preparation – Sanitizing / Cleaning solution

Step Description
1 Ensure Safety googles and gloves are in place
2 Include the TM DESANA MAX 70g sachet to desired mixing vessel
3 Include 9L of clean water to desired mixing vessel and proceed to mix well
4 From this solution, remove enough solution to fill desired spray bottle
5 Transfer remaining solution to flashing keg

Procedure – First time use

First time rinsing of the lines to first be rinsed with clean water before rinsing with cleaning solution!

Step Description
1 Ensure the gas bottle valve is open and set the gas pressure to +/- 1.8bar
2 Fix the appropriate keg coupler to a flushing keg containing clean water
3 Ensure the Swift Pour cup is in place and nozzle penetrates valve
4 As a precaution, place your hand on the top of the placed Swift Pour Cup. This will prevent the cup from moving if an air bubble were to occur. Continue with this action until you feel that there are no air bubbles remaining
5 Press the button on the Dock to start pouring. Calibration is in place. However, if the Dock does not stop pouring, please press the same button to stop pouring, once cup is full
6 Lines should be rinsed at least twice or until all are bubbles have been removed
7 Ensure the gas bottle valve is closed and switch system off, if not in use

Procedure – General line cleaning

First time users should ensure that a general cleaning is completed once cleaning with water has been achieved!

Step Description
1 Ensure the gas bottle valve is open and set the gas pressure to +/- 1.8bar
2 Fix the appropriate keg coupler to a flushing keg containing the cleaning solution
3 Spray the Cup Docking Station and console with the solution placed in the spray bottle. Leave for a few minutes and then wipe dry with a clean cloth
4 Ensure the Cup is in place and Nozzle penetrates valve
5 Press the button on the Dock to start pouring. Calibration is in place. However, if the Dock does not stop pouring, please press the same button to stop pouring once cup is full
6 Remove cup from Docking Station when full and pour contents into bucket. Continue completing this action until all ‘dirty’ water/ beer is removed from the beer lines. Dirty lines will produce a green liquid whereas clean lines produce a purple liquid
7 Excess solution in lines to be flushed with clean water. Proceed to flush lines with clean water till water fills the cup
8 Ensure the gas bottle valve is closed and switch system off, if not in use

End of shift – General cleaning

Step Description
1 Ensure Dock has been turned off
2 Spray surrounding surface, Cup Docking Station and Nozzle with spray bottle cleaning solution
3 Leave cleaning solution to rest for a few minutes before washing down/ rinsing with clean warm water

Beginning of shift – General cleaning

Step Description
1 Ensure work surface, Cup Docking Station and Nozzle are clean. If unsure repeat end of shift cleaning process

Disclaimers

  • Client may make use of local or in-house beer tech team for cleaning process.
  • Warm beer maybe found within the nozzle point if left for too long. If possible, extract the first 5ml of standing beer to prevent serving warm beer.
  • Dirty lines may result to foaming on the beer (FOB). Ensure that lines are cleaned frequently as a precaution.
